"abyssal whisper"
|
I am the spokesperson
for the inhabitants of the deep : this marvellous marine heritage
in danger too often forgotten. We only know 0.0001% of the seabed
and yet its ecosystem is already threatened by human activity
(deep-sea trawling, surface pollutants, etc.).
From the Pompeii worm to the lyre sponge, from octopus to deep
sea squid, from coral bleaching to to ocean acidification, I try
to translate their calls and sufferings through the chisel.
Jazz standards inspired the titles of these engravings. |
